Travel To The United States
Heading over to the USA? Whether it’s sightseeing in the Big Apple or hitting the beaches of California, it’s important to stay protected with travel insurance.
Ski and winter sports insurance is a specialised travel insurance policy that covers the unique risks of skiing, snowboarding, and other winter activities. Standard travel insurance typically excludes winter sports, making this dedicated cover necessary for slope holidays. The policy covers medical treatment for skiing injuries, emergency mountain rescue, and helicopter evacuation costs. It also protects against equipment loss or damage, piste closures due to poor snow conditions, and personal liability if you injure someone else. You can purchase it as a single-trip policy or annual cover for frequent skiers.
Ski insurance provides financial protection against unexpected medical expenses if you’re injured on the slopes. Cover typically includes emergency evacuation from mountain areas, which can cost thousands of euros without proper protection. Your policy can reimburse you for unused lift passes and equipment hire if illness or injury cuts your trip short. Many policies also cover the cost of lost or stolen ski equipment, including expensive gear and accessories. Travel disruption cover helps if bad weather closes airports or resorts, ensuring you can reclaim accommodation and travel costs.
Ski travel insurance covers medical expenses and hospital treatment for injuries sustained while skiing or snowboarding on the slopes. The policy includes emergency mountain rescue, helicopter evacuation, and repatriation to Ireland if required. You’ll receive compensation for lost, stolen, or damaged ski equipment, whether owned or hired at the resort. Cover extends to trip cancellation, curtailment, and travel delays caused by adverse weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Most policies also include piste closure benefits, personal liability protection, and cover for your personal belongings throughout your winter holiday.
Winter sports injury cover provides medical treatment and hospitalisation costs if you’re injured while skiing, snowboarding, or participating in other snow-based activities on your trip.
Ski lift and ski pass cover reimburses you for unused passes if injury, illness, or adverse conditions prevent you from using pre-paid lift tickets during your holiday.
Emergency assistance offers 24/7 support with access to medical professionals who can arrange treatment, coordinate mountain rescue, and organise your repatriation to Ireland if needed.
Ski equipment damage cover protects your skis, snowboard, boots, and accessories against accidental damage during your trip, whether you own or hire the gear.
Avalanche closure cover compensates you for additional accommodation and travel costs if avalanche risk or actual avalanche activity closes the resort and prevents you from skiing.
Piste closure cover provides compensation if insufficient snow levels or poor weather conditions close the slopes, reimbursing you for unused accommodation or alternative travel arrangements.
