Due to our continued expansion we are currently looking for an ambitious and dedicated Project Accountant to join our team based in our Dublin office in Sandyford.

This full time position will see the successful candidates report directly to our financial controller and play a crucial part in helping Chill Insurance achieve our ambitious targets over the coming years.

This is a highly demanding, but equally rewarding, position which will give the successful candidate the opportunity to work with ,and learn from, a friendly, experienced and extremely professional team who are renowned for their high quality of work and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to develop financial and operational reports from root to deliverable for the purposes of strategic analysis and facilitating decision making.
  • As a project accountant you will be responsible for a specific initial project involving the improvement of a control and reconciliation function in finance operations. This will encompass a full revamp of a current work practice involving large volumes of data and ensuring regulatory compliance for all transaction processing.
  • Upon completion of this initial project the success candidate will seek out strategic improvements in other areas of the business with a view to delivering improved controls and deliver process efficiencies.
  • The successful candidate will also assume ongoing financial accounting and analytic responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

Skills

  • Advanced excel skills and the confidence to work with complex spreadsheets.
  • Ability to analyse and interrogate large volumes of data and root cause discrepancies.
  • A logical and methodical approach to problem solving without losing the merits of a lateral approach.
  • Willingness to develop and mentor members of the Finance Team ensuring a close-knit hard-working ethos pervades.
  • A self-starter, enthusiastic, willing to put in the effort and gain from the output.
  • A results driven individual who maximises opportunities and evaluates value.
  • An initiator who takes pride in owning a project and bringing it through to completion.
  • A commercial outlook, knowing what is needed to drive the business forward.
  • A real interest in MIS and reporting.

Experience

  • Experience of the insurance industry would be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven track record of project delivery with working knowledge of key components of project management.
  • Investment appraisal capabilities - primarily assisting in the decisions to undertake IT Development projects.
