What’s Ireland Buying In 2025?

The market for new cars is looking healthy in 2025, with registrations up about 2.4% on last year totalling over 79,000 new cars so far. Petrol cars have been grabbing the most market share, but year on year there is a decline in favour of hybrid and electric cars, which continue to grow in their numbers.

Brands like Toyota, Volkswagen and Hyundai are dominating the new car market in Ireland in 2025. SUVs like the Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage and Toyota RAV4 sell well. Alfa Romeo

Audi

BMW

BYD

Chinese car giant BYD has been growing in Ireland this year thanks to the arrival of new models like the Seal U plug-in hybrid and the Sealion 7 electric SUV. Citroën

DS

Fiat

Ford

Ford is leading the charge this summer with its new line-up of electric vehicles: the Puma Gen-E, Explorer and Capri. MG

MG has been making waves in the Irish market since it relaunched under new ownership in 2021. This year it has its best line-up yet and there are good deals to be had. Opel

This summer Opel is offering a special 2.52% finance deal to celebrate the season. You’ll also get a €1000 ‘Trade Up’ bonus on a new Opel registered before 31st July. Choose from the likes of the newly updated Mokka compact SUV, as well as old favourites like the Corsa and Astra, as well as the brand new Grandland Electric and Grandland Hybrid.

Peugeot

To tempt you into a new Peugeot, the brand is offering finance rates as low as 1.9% or trade-in contributions up to €1500.
